What we collect

• Your name, phone number and email

  So a driver can find you and ring you when they are close. The phone number is the one that matters — it is how a job actually gets completed.

• Where you are, when you ask for help

  Taken from your phone only when you tap “Use my location”, or from wherever you drag the pin. We do not track you in the background, and we do not collect your location when you are not asking for something.

• Your vehicle

  Type, number plate, and optionally make and model. Saved so you do not have to type it again, and so the parts catalogue can show you things that fit.

• Your jobs and messages

  What you asked for, what it cost, and anything written in the chat on that job.

We do not collect your payment details. Mobile money is handled by Flutterwave, who are licensed by the Bank of Uganda; we receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference number.

Who can see it

• The driver sent to you

  Your name, your phone number, where to collect and where to take the vehicle. Only for the job they are on, and only while it is running. When the job ends, their access to your details ends with it.

• AutoLift staff

  Your jobs, so they can dispatch a truck, answer the phone and take payment.

• Nobody else

  We do not sell your details and we do not share them for advertising.

This is enforced by the database itself, not by our screens. Another customer cannot read your jobs even with a direct request to our servers.

Your driver's location

If you drive for AutoLift, your position is shared only while you are on duty, so the office can dispatch you and the customer can watch the truck approach. Going off duty stops it immediately.

How long we keep it

Job records are kept while your account exists, because they are the record of what you were charged and why. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your details and your vehicles; the financial record of completed jobs is kept where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Ring 0771 029 957 and we will do it. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Office.

Cookies

One cookie, which keeps you signed in. There is no advertising or analytics tracking on this site. Signing out removes it.
